Tasman Island Cruise
The Tasman Island Cruise is a brilliant way to see wildlife, Tasman Island and the mighty dolerite sea cliffs of Tasmania’s Three Capes Track, and is included as part of my 3 day Tasman Peninsula Photography Workshops.
The cruise is generally 3 hours and depending on the weather conditions on the day will take you out from Eaglehawk Neck or Port Arthur and show you Cape Hauy, Cape Pillar, Cape Raoul and Tasman Island.
Our day out on last weeks photography workshop started and finished at Eaglehawk Neck and took us to Cape Pillar & Tasman Island, and back.
October is a good time of year for whale spotting in Tasmania as the Humpbacks make their way back from mainland Australia to Antarctica and we indeed were very fortunate to see a very active mother and calf.
I even managed to capture some shaky phone video – see below.
My next Tasman Peninsula trip runs next March, and the cruise is always a highlight! We base ourselves at Eaglehawk Neck and shoot sunrise at the Tessellated Pavement, and also astro photography. Check the link for more info and contact me to book a place 🙂
