Dark Mofo 2018 has come but not quite gone – the art installations are down but the fallout from the Lord Mayor of Hobart’s criticism of the festival goes on. I spent Sarurday night wondering around the waterfront and it really was amazing to see so many people out and about. What this festival has done for Hobart’s winter (and what Mona itself has done for Hobart in general) is quite incredible and long may it reign 🙂

I missed Spectra the first time round so was keen to get some shots of it this time round, now that it is at its new home at Mona.

We then made our way down to the Dark Park, not really knowing what to expect. We found our way into the sheds to see the main light show (Musical Universalis – above) and Leviathan (below). For the Leviathan shots, we just so happened to be there right on closing time so I was hung back long enough to be able to snap a couple of shots of an empty room to capture the whole light show. The bottom shot captures one of the light beams coming into the lens.
